ATLASLIVE EARTH OBSERVATORY

Help

A guide to the main ATLAS features: what each one shows, where its data comes from, how fresh it is, and whether it is Free or Pro.

Globe & map basics Live aircraft & routes ATC radar Vessels Satellites & Starlink Cesium precision 3D Cameras Earthquakes World events — conflict, protests, disease Solar System Live Space telescopes Alerts & watch areas Community reports UAP sightings vs official records Accounts & Free vs Pro

Globe & map basicsFree

The 3D globe is the ATLAS home view: drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom. Tap a marker to open its details, and use search to find cities, airports and flights. The basic globe and map are free.

Live aircraft & routesPro

Live ADS-B feeds from adsb.lol and OpenSky show aircraft worldwide. Select a flight to draw its origin, destination, route and progress; when no route data exists, only the track is shown and the panel says so honestly. Positions can arrive late depending on the feed.

ATC radarPro

Listen to air-traffic-control audio from LiveATC for 5,000+ airports and read live METAR weather from aviationweather.gov alongside it. Both are relayed live by outside providers, so small delays versus the airfield are possible.

VesselsPro

AIS signals relayed by AISStream show vessels at sea. The stream is region-based, so vessels appear for the area you are viewing, and each vessel carries its signal receive time.

Satellites & StarlinkPro

Satellite and Starlink positions are computed from CelesTrak orbital-element data. These are calculated positions from orbital data — not live telemetry — and the data's reference time is shown with them.

Cesium precision 3DPro

The precision 3D view that continues from the classic globe. Zoom down to street level with the same live layers over Esri satellite imagery. It uses the same account as the classic view.

CamerasFreePro

Public cameras from transport agencies (DOT), airports and cities, on the map and in the camera wall. Free plans see a subset of public cameras; Pro sees the full set including airport cameras (Windy). Snapshots refresh on each provider's cycle, and video plays the provider's own stream.

EarthquakesFree

The USGS feed of earthquakes from the last 24 hours. Magnitude, depth and origin time are as published by USGS, and the earthquake layer is free.

World events — conflict, protests, diseasePro

Conflict and protest pins aggregate GDELT news reporting; disease pins show WHO's official outbreak reports (DON). Neither is a live observation — both are report-based, so the app labels them with report times and their delayed/unconfirmed nature.

Solar System LivePro

The latest solar imagery from NASA SDO plus planetary positions. The solar images are real observations from the spacecraft, and each image carries its observation time.

Space telescopesPro

Public observation schedules (STScI) for space telescopes such as Hubble. This is schedule information — what the telescope plans to observe — not live imagery, and the panel says so.

Alerts & watch areasPro

Register watch areas to be alerted about major earthquakes, rocket launches and ISS approaches. Alert settings are stored only in your browser, and alerts work while the page is open.

Community reportsFreePro

Sightings posted directly on the map by members. Viewing is free; posting is Pro. Every report carries the 'User report · Unverified' label, and conflict and fire/accident reports are reviewed by an administrator before publishing. You can corroborate other people's reports.

UAP sightings vs official recordsFreePro

These are two different things. 'UAP sightings' is citizen-report data filed with NUFORC (Pro). The 'UAP official library' is a library of government records released by the U.S. National Archives (NARA), free for everyone. The official library is the released government record itself; sighting reports are unverified citizen accounts.

Accounts & Free vs Pro

The free plan includes the basic globe and map, earthquakes, a subset of public cameras, viewing community reports and the UAP official library, and may show ads. Pro ($5.99/mo · $59.99/yr) unlocks every live layer, the Cesium precision view, alerts and posting, with no ads. Subscriptions are managed in the app's account menu.
